Should West Kirby enter the Great British High Street of the Year Awards?

Here's the short film inviting town teams & other partnerships to nominate a High Street.




The organisers say: Tell us and show us why your high street is great! This new competition is open to Town Teams and recognised local partnerships who can nominate a high street in their area - all with the aim of celebrating the incredible diversity and services that British high streets provide.

Winners of each category will now share a total fund of £50,000 worth of prize money and support being provided by Future High Streets Forum sponsors Boots, Costa, M&S, and BIRA.

Please note that because of this sponsorship package the deadline for entries to the competition is now 30 August 2014.

Simply enter online then get your local community together to support the application on their high street and on social media.

High streets in the following six categories can be entered:

*city centre
*town centre
*market town
*coastal community
*local shopping centre or parade of shops
*village
*London high streets can also enter online for the Mayor’s Award for London.

The competition is open for applications from 18th June to 30th August 2014 and the winners will be announced in the autumn.
